Life of an Infoscian:

There are two aspects here: some people do all da work n some people get to hv all da fun n enjoy the breathtaking lanscaping of Infy campus. Let me elaborate each one.

People who do all da work:

Catch 640 bus or latest da 730 pick up come to office n start wid ur day, ie if u get a chance to go home else da dormatory doors are always open. Call ur onsite co-ord/client clarify all da eod tasks else if itz a development frm scratch proj then get changed requirements, as always the requirements never get finalised even after a design sign-off. Quick bite at one of da many foodcourts or domino's or ccd outlet n then back to work. Your PM shows up by around 930-10 give da status n start wid ur tasks. Complete them by eod else stay in da dom. If u stay in da dom ask ur rommies to get clothes for u, u dont wanna be in shabby clothes in front of ur boss.
Haan in btwn get some time off for luch n if possible eve snacks.
Infy has developed itz campus so tht food is available in da campus 4 times a day ie at foodcourts n da ccd n domino's outlet is open till evening. Eventually it happens tht all da guys who work in crucial projects n slog there asses out dont get deserved returns cause of da Infy rule tht only 1 person per project has to be in top grade n rest ll be in grade 2. Wht dis does is ppl who dont work for a fraction of a time compared to dis guys who slog there asses out get grade1. Strange considering Infy's policies are regarded as best in da industry.

People who have all da fun:

Infy has excellent recreactional facilities. People who dont get to work get to enjoy all these facilities to da fullest. The gym starts from 530pm n u can see a hoard of these people linning to play tennis, badminton, tt, swimming n offcourse the gym. Wid this not to forget grade1.

Behind all dis u can always feel a north n a south divide.....

My journey in SIBM till now.

It was jus' a normal day when I was going for work at the Infy office in Bangalore when I got a call from my house informing me that I had to join SIBM. Then came the tough task of deciding whether to join the insti or continue with a supposedly well paid (if u stay in Bangalore no pay is sufficeint; the prices keep sky rocketing from rents to groceries) job at supposedly the most admired company for a software engineer (supposedly!!!! ppl the inside story is totally different; its jus' a normal company with loads of bureaucracy, red tapism and media hype - read my next post 'life of an infocian').
To save rest of the details, finally I joined SIBM. On my first day I was very excited to come to a B-school (letz see, I think the 'B' can be dropped!!). A busy schedule was in the ofering with lectures from morning to late afternoon, most of the lectures did not make sense as to why they were included in a MBA cirriculum. But its a mix of hard work (depends upon the student how he utilizes his time) and fun. The institute does definitely teachs to value your time and not to have too many expectations from the insti, you are the driver of how much you can extract out of these insti. Then came the selections for the interim Students Council (the selection procedure is a sophisticated version of ragging a true MBA terminology....). After that we had a party at XION where a cultural shock awaited me....though I missed the Freshers where I would have been even more shocked!! With a whisker the first sem was almost thru' and we had our Summers starting b4 the exams. That started a rush of digging my past to find in the deep hidden corners whether I had actually done anything worth to put on my CV. Luckily I could get enough points to put on my cv. These were the days when PAT actually felt they are the reason for our existence, overflowing with attitude - guys get a grip!!!! But thanks to PAT's effort they achieved largest 0 day placement, bravo guys.
After the exam we had a looong break by any MBA standards....
The second sem start was a dry affair. The college started in full swing after 15 days. The run for fun continues in second sem....on the day the results are declared (which I cleared with a D, well almost everybody got a D) we had a blast at Palazzo.
